The COP28 & SME Climate Hub for MENA is a collaboration between the COP28 UAE Presidency and the SME Climate Hub, to drive climate action in the private sector across the Middle East and North Africa. The COP28 Presidency is partnering with Masdar, First Abu Dhabi Bank and Abu Dhabi Chamber to create a legacy platform that will become a focal point of sustainability activities of SMEs in the MENA region.

As one of the COP28 UAE Presidency’s flagship private sector initiatives, the COP28 & SME Climate Hub for MENA is available to businesses in the region, completely free-of-charge. It is also one of the first global sustainability platforms of its kind available in the Arabic language, as well as English and Spanish.

Through the SME Climate Hub, MENA SMEs will have access to free and comprehensive resources and tools that will enable them to make a climate commitment, take action and measure their progress towards emissions reductions in line with scientific benchmarks. This access to information, measurement and reporting tools will help businesses to bridge their knowledge and resource gaps and make concrete progress on climate action, paving the way to a net-zero future.

MOBILIZING FOR THE MOST INCLUSIVE COP

COP28 aims to host the most inclusive COP to date - and the private sector plays an important role in this. Working together with each and every stakeholder is the only way to make transformational, practical progress that delivers for the climate, for our economies, and for our people. But this cannot be achieved without a fully inclusive approach that brings everyone to the table. The COP28 UAE Presidency is focused on mobilizing all areas of the private sector to accelerate MENA’s net zero transition by 2050 - and SMEs are a major part of this.
